George Thomas Tittsworth

George Thomas Tittsworth, 74, of Gray, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Born on October 5, 1940 in Scott County, VA, he was the son of the late John Tittsworth and Hazel Pratt Tittsworth. Mr. Tittsworth was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was active in the Church Brotherhood for local Missionary trips, and worked for Holston Defense for 39 years. In addition to his parents, John and Hazel Tittsworth, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Linda Tittsworth. He is survived by his two sons, Tony Tittsworth of Kingsport and Jeff Tittsworth of Abingdon, VA; two grandchildren, Joshua Tittsworth and Mikayla Tittsworth, both of Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Ben Tittsworth and his wife, Linda of Gate City, VA, and Charles Tittsworth his wife, Marilyn of Como, MS; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, July 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Rick Meade and the Reverend Carl Strickler officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the Garden of Everlasting Life II of East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are his family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class of Lynn Garden Baptist Church.
