

George enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading, sporting events (especially the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite NASCAR driver, Kevin Harvick) and going to flea markets. George was an avid drummer who played in many bands. George and his wife “Mickie” owned several business’s thru the years, Race Cards by George and Mickie and Myrtle’s Restaurant. George retired with Herman Brothers Trucking after 28 years of service. George was a lifetime member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. George was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his half-brother, Bill Warwick; and special nephew, Keith Barnett.
George is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary “Mickie” Warwick; special niece, Virginia Fagerland & husband Stan; special nephew, Jon Barnett; four cousins, Pal Barger, Hal Carmack, Carol Carmack, and Ansel Carmack; special sister, Kawana “Sis” Cooper; several great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday (August 29, 2016) from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Crossroads Christian Church (1300 Sunset Drive Gray, TN 37615). Funeral services will immediately follow at 6:30 p.m. with Pastors Clint Andrews and Rob Aubrey officiating. Committal services will be held Tuesday morning (August 30, 2016) at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Good Shepherd at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, TN.
