

Gladys Garland Cox, 89, entered into the Heavenly Kingdom during the early morning hours of Wednesday (June 8, 2016). Gladys was born on February 6, 1927 to the late Harve & Helen Garland in Seaton, IL.
Gladys was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and knitting. Gladys was a loving wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard H. Cox, Sr.; sister, Mary Southwick; and brother, Joe Garland. Gladys is survived by her son, Richard H. Cox, Jr. & wife Debbie; daughter, Helen Andersen Cox Panneck & husband Chris; special friends and neighbors, Tom & Sandy Allen, Betty Fritz, Geraldine Bus, Charles & Betty Greene; numerous Pew Pals at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday (June 13, 2016) from noon until 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Angus Shaw officiating. Entombment will be held Monday (June 13, 2016) at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories at East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to either Waverly Road Presbyterian Church c/o Food Pantry (1415 Waverly Road Kingsport, TN 37664) or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Inc. at www.pancan.org.
