Grace Marie Jones

Mrs. Grace Marie Jones, 78, of Mt. Carmel went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born on January 18, 1936 in Kingsport, she was the daughter of the late Enos Vick Lord and Alice Marie Boyer Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Mrs. Jones had a love and passion for sewing, quilting and embroidering. She took sewing and quilting classes and was a member of different clubs here in Kingsport. She retired as a secretary from the Kingsport City School System. In addition to her parents, Enos Vick Lord and Alice Marie Boyer Lord, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Lord, Kenner Lord and JR “Junebug” Lord; step sister-in-law, Mary Grubb; and step brother-in-law, Claude Livesay.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charlie B. Jones; daughter, Teresa Lawson; son, Ricky Jones and his wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Heather Jones, James Jones, Bradley Lawson and Brandon Lawson; sisters, Ina Ventura and Louise Bushell; brothers, Bill Lord and his wife, Brenda, and Carl “Tody” Lord and his wife, Shelby; sister-in-law, Brenda Lord; brother-in-law, Bobby Jones and his wife, Tonya; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday Morning, August 29, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow in the Garden of Prayer at East Lawn Memorial Park with Carl “Tody” Lord officiating.
