

He was born May 5, 1961, in Kingsport, TN to the late Aaron and Lucille Salyer King. He was a loving and compassionate son, brother, uncle and friend who truly lived life to the fullest by extending himself and his sense of humor and kindness to everyone he met along life’s journey. He was a graduate of Lynn View High School and Northeast State Community College and received several patents and recognition over his long and distinguished career in the Chemical Technology field.
Greg enjoyed cooking, fishing, skiing, traveling, playing guitar, listening to music, going to concerts, checking out new restaurants, volunteering, long walks with his dogs and spending time outdoors.
Those left to cherish Greg’s memory and ensure his legacy lives on are his brothers Gary King (Ceclia) and Wayne King (Vickie); his sisters Ann Moore (Alan) and Tammy King; his nephews Jason Moore (Michelle and children McKenzie and Jarrett), Aaron King (Alex and children Knoll, Jensen, Blakely, Jasmine and Korbin), Adam King (Megan and Scooter), Andy King (Alicia and children Arden and Anderson); nieces Laura Erwin (Allen) and Kristy Moore (Roy and children Nathan and Darron); and special friend and neighbor Pete Horton (Bonnie and daughter Lily).
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 12:00 p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the Neurosurgery ICU team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for their kind and compassionate care.
