Hattie Marie Grizzle

Hattie Grizzle, age 78, entered into rest November 15, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Hattie was born in Russell, VA a daughter to the late Herbert and Gracie Hale; she was a longtime resident of Kingsport. She was a member of Living Praise Assembly of God Church. Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Grizzle; step-children, Bill Grizzle, Jean Dollarhyde, Nancy Grizzle, Lee Grizzle; brother, Edgar Hale; sisters, Lucille Stevens and Jeannette Walker. Survivors include two sons, Tommy Grizzle of Fall Branch, Tony Grizzle of Blountville; three daughters, Debbie Carter and fiance' Billy Helton of Blountville, Diane McClellan of Church Hill, Brenda Rhoten and husband Woody of Kingsport; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Baldwin of Hawaii, Almadean Ryans of Castlewood, VA, Mary Owens of Damascus, VA ; step-children, Minnie Iza Grizzle of St. Paul, VA, Calvin Grizzle, Jennifer Helbert and husband Mike all of Castlewood, VA and daughter-in-law Joanna Grizzle of Dungannon,VA. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn with Pastor T.K. Simpson officiating.
