Helen "Ruth" Hicks

Helen "Ruth" Hicks (nee Turpin), 92, of Blountville, passed away on May 10, 2024. She was born November 25, 1931 in Yukon, WV to the late Rachel and Walter M. Turpin. Ruth was retired from Luby Chevrolet in Baltimore, MD as a Vice President. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 1/2 years, J.C. Hicks, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, MaryAnn Hicks-Blimline of Rogersville, TN; grandchildren, Ashley E. Morrison of Wytheville, VA, Jacob Blimline of Rogersville, TN; great-grandchildren, June C. Morrison and Elsa J. Morrison, both of Wytheville, VA; and sister, Patricia L. Pike (Roger) of Tazewell, VA.

Graveside services, only, will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:30 am at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport TN, in the Garden of Prayer and officiated by Pastor Clayton Farmer of Elizabeth Chapel UMC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Ruth's honor to Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, 1041 Elizabeth Chapel Rd, Bluff City, TN. 37618.
