

James Wilburn Bradley Jr., 93, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015, in the Village at Allandale after an extended illness. He was born on January 10, 1922 to the late Wilburn Bradley Sr. and Clara Reed Bradley. He was born and raised in Norton, Virginia, later moving to Kingsport and had resided in Mt. Carmel for the last 32 years. Mr. Bradley worked for White Floral Company for over 40 years and was manager of the Weber City Store until his retirement. He previously worked for Norton Floral Company. Mr. Bradley was a veteran of the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant and served in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and Kentucky Wildcats fan. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues and a former member of Warriors Path Golf Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 69 years, Edith Adams Bradley; and his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his son, Buddy Bradley and wife Dorothy; two daughters, Melba Davis and husband Norman; and Jimmie Smith and husband Skip; three grandchildren, Wes Bradley and wife Kellie, Charity Hammond and husband Tony, and Chip Smith; four great grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Janey and Tanner Hammond, and Logan Bradley; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 9:00am until 11:00am at Vermont United Methodist Church, 1817 Bloomingdale Rd Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral Services for Mr. James Wilburn Bradley Jr. will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00am at Vermont United Methodist Church with Pastor Christi Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life III at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chip Smith, Wes Bradley, Tony Hammond, Bill Neurdenburg, Chuck Neurdenburg and Richard Ridings.
