James Lynn Hill

James Lynn Hill, age 72, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife of 49 years, Ellen Hill on July 18, 2012. He was born in Claiborne County, Tennessee and had lived in Kingsport since 1964. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Mason. Jim had retired from the Data Processing Department at Eastman after 30 years of service. He attended Cassidy United Methodist Church. One of his favorite things to do was to play bluegrass music, especially at the Anderson House in Blountville on Friday nights. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Eva C. Leabow Hill and a sister, Anne Brooks. Survivors include three sons, Jim Hill and wife Laura of Powell, TN, Barry Hill and wife Jackie of Blountville, Scott Hill and wife Kolette of Sevierville, TN; six grandchildren, Brad, Nick, Lexi, Levi, Gretta, Abraham; one brother, Bill Hill of Fairborn, OH; one sister, Bobbie Walker and husband Bill of New Tazewell, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Griffin officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Jim never met a stranger, and had a way of making you feel special, and will be missed by all who knew him.
