Jerry Lee Collingsworth

Jerry Lee Collingsworth, age 67, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center Hospital, Mountain Home. Mr. Collingsworth was a native of Blackwater, VA, and the son of the late Marshall and Stella Satterfield Collingsworth. He owned his own excavating company, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Collingsworth was an avid racing fan, loved to fish, woodworking and enjoyed his farm life. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2006, Marilyn Collingsworth, along with several brothers and one sister. Survivors include a daughter, Gail Collingsworth; a son Jeffery Collingsworth and wife Kathryn; grandchildren: Joshua L. Collingsworth, Javin L. Collingsworth, Jaxson L. Collingsworth and Alexis Price; several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and a great and caring friend, Connie Bishop. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral home. A Funeral Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Hansel Butler, officiating. Music will be provided by Glen Hurd. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Peace in East Lawn Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble in the cemetery by 10:45 for the service. Military Honors will be provided by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and the Gate City Post #265. Honorary pallbearers will be the following: Lt. Doug Benning and H Troop 17th Armored Cavalry 1st Platoon 1968-69, John A. Utsman, Scott Flannary and Bobby Booker.
