Joni was born in Dover, New Jersey, and raised in Rockaway, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Morris Knolls High School. She attended Kean College in New Jersey.
She married Mark Bogusat in 1987 and resided in Wharton, New Jersey before moving to Piney Flats, Tennessee in 2021. She worked for Verizon for 34 years in Livingston, New Jersey.
Joni was a fan of watching her husband drag race and helping him work on his cars. She was an avid health and fitness enthusiast and enjoyed going to various beaches.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Ginder. Joni leaves behind her beloved husband, Mark; aunt, Barbara Lourie; brother, Gary Hendricks and his wife, Linda; brother, Jay Ciriello; sister, Lisa Gilmore and her husband, Robert; as well as five nieces, one nephew, and eighteen grandnieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd at 2:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. A memorial service delivered by Pastor Greg Cercone will follow at 3:00 PM in which her siblings will deliver her heartfelt eulogy prior to dismissal. A Celebration of Joni's life will be held in New Jersey on a yet to be determined future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
