He was born December 19, 1980, to the late Larry Kennedy and to his mother, Marcia Davis.
Justin loved life and enjoyed walks at Duck Island with his wife, Tasha, his furbaby, Nora, and his grandson, Braxton. Traveling with family was something he looked forward to most, and one of his favorite destinations was Cape San Blas. He enjoyed lounging on his couch at home surrounded by his cats and family, living the simple life. He was always a hard worker and went above and beyond to support his family.
In addition to his father, Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Lola Kennedy; grandmother, Irene Ramey; grandfather, Loyd Ramey; favorite uncle, Earl Kennedy; father-in-law, Ellis Hicks.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 28 years, Tasha Kennedy; children, Brittany Kennedy and fiancé Martin Mayne, and Abby Leonard and husband Cody; grandchildren, whom he adored, Braxton and Marlee Mayne; parents, Marcia Davis and his stepfather, Donnie Davis; brothers, Joe Kennedy and wife Ashley, Shawn Davis and fiancé Kieara, Nicky Clark and wife Angie, sister-in-law, Tara Kerr and husband Bill; grandmother, Eula Salling; mother-in-law, Dinah Hicks; special furbabies, Nora, Oliver, Sailor, Marina, Cove, Kona, Maggie, Waverly, Butterfly, Toby, Finn, and Coral. Justin is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Justin will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM. A graveside service will follow Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Kennedy Cemetery, Forest View Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Justin's memory to the Sullivan County Animal Shelter or to Tasha for the purchase of a headstone.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to J.D. Ramey and Danny Jarrett.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe Kennedy, Colin Kennedy, Eli Kennedy, Martin Mayne, Cody Leonard and Jacob Beasley.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Donnie Davis, Braxton Mayne and Bryon Beasley.
