

Elder Lester Clyde Jarrett, 82, went to sing a new song with the Heavenly Choir on Friday, April 18, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Jarrett was born on April 21, 1931 in Scott County, Virginia the son of the late Coy Jarrett and Ona Arnold Jarrett. Mr. Jarrett loved singing the old songs in local churches for many years and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Jarrett; four brothers, Ed, Elmer, Ezra and Paul; and three sisters, Twin Hester, Frances and Beatrice.
Mr. Jarrett is survived and leaving behind for a little while his wife, Edith Jarrett of 63 years; five sons, Danny Jarrett and wife Angie, Mike Jarrett and special daughter-in-law Mary, Bobby Jarrett and wife Teresa, Rick Jarrett and Tosh Jarrett; seven daughters, Linda Knight and husband Ralph, Debbie Delph and husband John, Marcella Ball and husband Ted, Brenda Jarrett, Teresa Keith, Leslie Jarrett “aka Paddlefoot” and husband Chuck Littrell and Cristy Robinson; 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Bullock, Margaret Murray and husband Bob, and Geneva Tipton and husband Joe; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Lester Clyde Jarrett will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1:00pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Willie Neeley, Milligan Herron and Wayne Gilliam officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA. Pallbearers will be Mr. Jarrett’s grandsons. The family will receive friend’s Monday, April 21, 2014 in the East Lawn Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
