Matthew Lamar Clanton

Charity covers a multitude of sins, and Matthew was true example of charity. He was a true giver of love and comfort to anyone in need. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and everyone’s friend.

He was preceded in death by his father: Homer Lamar Clanton; the mother of his son: Yvonne McAmis and his grandparents.

Matt leaves his wife of 21 years, Kimberly Clanton; sons: Joseph Ratliff (Nikki), Austin Clanton, Jaydn Ratliff; mother: Susan Bennett (Ben); step mothers: Louise Clanton, and Sabrina Moungey (Gary); mother-in-law: Sharon Bailey; father-in-law and step mother-in-law: Frank and Donna McClure; aunt-in-law: Karen Cole; brothers: Joshua Clanton (Beckey), Niles Mesnard, Casey Childers, Steven Childers; sisters: Nikki Rayner (Jeff), Amanda Long (Jonathon); grandchildren: Amoura Ratliff, Kooper Ratliff, and Dustin Rittenour. brothers-in-law: Jason (Gina) Cunningham and John McClure; sister-in-law: Brittany McClure. Nephews: David Cole, Damien Clanton, Logan Rayner, Xylon Long, and Jacob Childers; nieces: Arrowyia Clanton (who referred to Matt, as “Aunt Matt”), Alexus Bishop, Carly Long, Destiny Sopa and Megan Childers. Several Aunts and Uncles and special friends Patsy Christian and Marvin Henry.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 pm at Sunnyside Baptist Church.
