

Michael W. Scearce, 55, was born in White Pine, Tennessee on October 5, 1958. He was raised in Bean Station, Tennessee and had lived in the Kingsport area for twenty years. Mike went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his residence after a valiant fight with cancer. Mike was blessed with wonderful family and friends whom he loved dearly. He was full of life and love of the Lord. He had a great sense of humor, and loved to travel. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends on trips that often took him to incredible destinations. He enjoyed going on evangelistic mission trips both domestic and foreign and was blessed to have traveled as far away as South Africa and Belize to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mikes’ hobbies included: motorcycle riding, fishing and hunting. Mike retired from Brock Services LTD after 20 years of service. He was an active member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Church Hill, Tennessee and was also an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association Rays of the Son Chapter 199. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Scearce; and one brother-in-law, Mickey Strange. Mike lived in Mount Carmel, Tennessee with his beloved wife of twenty-one years, Donna J. Scearce. He is survived by his father, Thomas W. Scearce of Bean Station, TN; two daughters, Tabatha K. Swayze and husband Ryan and Jessica L. Scearce of Morristown, TN; one son, Jacob W. Russell and wife Cindy of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Zane Swayze, Cameron Ferguson and Ashley Jones; one sister, Linda Strange of Rosehill, TN; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Ridgeview Baptist Church, 234 Hurd Road, Church Hill, Tennessee. Funeral services for Mr. Michael W. Scearce will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Jon Rogers and CMA Chaplain Jimmy Phipps officiating. Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Garden of the Good Shepherd of East Lawn Memorial Park. Those planning on attending the graveside service need to meet at Ridgeview Baptist Church by 12:15pm for a funeral procession to be led by a motorcycle procession. Pallbearers will be Don Brown, Anthony Burgin, Kevin Cradic, Jack Craig, Larry Fields, Paul Hudson, Neal McMurray, and John Qualls. Honorary pallbearers will be members from the Christian Motorcycle Association and Peace Makers Motorcycle Club.
