Minnie C. Sexton

Minnie C. Sexton, 89, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015, at her residence. She was born on November 18, 1925 in Appalachia, Virginia, the daughter of the late John Henry Sneed and Myrtle Willis Sneed. Mrs. Sexton was of the Baptist faith and retired from Eastman with 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Sexton; two brothers, Lonnie Sneed and Emory Sneed; and one sister, Virginia Franklin.

Survivors include one son, Richard Sexton and wife Donna; two grandchildren, Scott Sexton and fiancé Aimee King and Kara Rogers and husband Dr. Jon Rogers; three great grandchildren, Asher Rogers, Sadie Rogers and Elsie Rogers; one special nephew, Donnie Franklin; several other nieces and nephews; and her cat, Chloe.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 19, 2015 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm at the East Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside Services for Mrs. Minnie C. Sexton will follow at 3:00pm in the Garden of Mausoleum with Rev. Brent Blake officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28207.
