Nancy Burbridge

Nancy Burbridge, 64, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2023. She was born to Phyllis (Hughes) Hale and the late Eldon Lee Hale. Although she will be greatly missed, we rejoice knowing we will be reunited one day!

Nancy was a go-getter from an early age; after receiving her diploma from Ketron High School, she went off to cosmetology school where she graduated early! Once she had her hair license, Nancy packed up and headed to California where she opened her own salon: Gold Rush. She was the hardest working woman her family knew. Nancy loved travelling and seeing the world, often travelling with her mom. Eventually, Nancy had two sons - Brandon and Blake; and even when her cards were down, she made sure she had a smile on her face and was in a good mood to uplift her family. Nancy always put others before herself, she was selfless and ensured everyone was taken care of before herself. She always wanted to make sure others felt important; she would listen and remember the smallest of details of those close to her and get them knick knacks to see them happy. Nancy was gifted in her artistic abilities, not just with creating beautiful hair, but also creating chalk drawings!

Nancy was known for her big personality and being the life of the party! She loved life and loved bringing smiles to those around her. After she lost the father of her children in 1997, Nancy didn’t skip a beat and immediately filled the role of being both parents to her sons. Her children were her life… even her furbabies! She referenced her dogs as children and even told her sons they were their “little brothers”. She loved to spoil her pets and even had Blake go and get biscuits and gravy where she would feed half to her pups! On days where the sun was high and shining bright, she would let them sun bathe as she reclined and watched TV. Her family meant the world to her and they will always feel her love.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Lee Hale.

Those left to cherish her memory are: mother, Phyllis Calkins; sons, Brandon Hale (Beth), Blake Burbridge; brother, Eldon Lee Hale; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Callie, and Bodhi Hale; and her little furbabies, Rudy, Trip, Gracie, Gidget, and Midget.
