She was of the Christian faith and loved the Lord with all of her heart.
She was born in Kingsport, TN at Holston Valley Hospital. She was also a lifelong member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars along with her mother and father.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Edward Mellons; mother, Charleen Adeline Mellons; brother Thomas Arthur Mellons; nephew Wayne Mellons; and niece Heather Mellons.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Dawn Castle; son, Bobby Weber; daughter, Leigh Moody and husband Chris; grandchildren, Patrick, Edward, Jacob, Megan, and Chloe; several great-grandchildren; sister, Cathi Alsop; and brothers, Mark Mellons and wife Sue, and Michael Mellons and wife Patty.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 12:00 to 2:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor David Luster officiating.
Rachel will be laid to rest on Thursday at 3:00pm in the Garden of Apostles.
