Raymond E. Horton, 85, of Kingsport, Tennessee, went home to meet his Savior face to face peacefully surrounded by his daughters. Born June 25, 1940, in Kingsport, Raymond, affectionately called Jimmy, spent many of his childhood years growing up on Horton Ford Road in Kyles Ford, Hancock County.
He was a 1959 graduate of Ketron High School. He graduated from Steed College and retired from Eastman Kodak as a Product Specialist. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. In 1960, Raymond married the love of his life, Martha Ann Church.
He was a long-time member of Indian Springs Baptist Church and, for the past 15 years, faithfully attended Circle J Cowboy Church in Kingsport.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ann. His parents, Georgia Horton Brooks and Nicholas Milam Horton.
Raymond leaves behind his loving daughters Lisa Stremsterfer and husband Alan of Alcoa; Pat Sterling and husband Bob of Knoxville; and Vicki Wilson and husband Jeff of Kingsport. He is survived by his grandchildren, Brandon Stremsterfer, Ben Sterling, Dusty Sterling, and Ashley Duty. He leaves behind a growing legacy of six great grandchildren, Annsley & Austin Sterling; Beckett Sterling; and Laura, Sarah, and Jamie Duty. His Uncle Ray Horton and Aunt Daisy Burnham and special friend, Thelma Smith.

A visitation for Raymond will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 12:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. A burial will occur Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
