

Robert Michael “Daylight” Day, 60, of Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. Born on August 18, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Bobbie Clay Day and Charlotte May Stratenberger Day.
“Daylight” had a passion for playing golf. He was a dedicated Christian and an Elder at Indian Springs Christian Church. He loved spending time with his family, living to cherish his memories with his step-sons and grandchildren. He was the former finance manager for Johnson City Toyota. Most recently he worked for Allegiant Airlines at Tri-Cities Airport.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tamara Hamilton Brown Day; step-sons, Josh Brown, and Jason Brown and his wife, Stephanie and their soon to be son, all from Kingsport; grandchildren, Joslyn Gayle Brown, Dayton Michael Brown and Jax Matthew Brown; sister, Debbie Strachan and her husband, Bruce of Hudson, Ohio; niece, Jennifer Mitchell Strachan and her husband, Matt and their children, Wyatt, Landen and Laurel; nephews, Barrett Strachan and his wife, Eva and their daughter, Audra, and Robert Strachan and his wife, Leslie and their son, Carter; his mother-in-law, Lois June Hamilton; and brother-in-law, Rick Hamilton from Kingsport.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, November 15, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Indian Springs Christian Church. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Minister Mike Beverly officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indian Springs Christian Church, c/o Project Portal, 5536 Kiowa St., Kingsport, TN 37664.
