Robert "Bob" Summers

Robert, “Bob” Summers, age 84 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Michigan, and had lived in Kingsport for 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. D. and Beulah Deaton Summers; granddaughter, Kelly Michelle Summers and brother, Jack Summers. Bob retired from Rentenbach and Wright Construction Company. He was a member of Midfield Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sultina “Bobbie” Summers; three sons, Danny L. Summers and wife Beverly, Lanny Summers and wife Dorothy, Jeffrey L. Summers all of Kingsport; one daughter, Cathy A. Robinson and husband Mike of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Sam Summers and wife Johnnie of Bradenton, FL; two sisters, Nancy Williams and husband Walter, Kaye Ward and husband Jim all of Kingsport. The family would like to say a special thank you to Bob’s caregiver, Vanessa Kilian who is a granddaughter for her extra care and love to him. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home, the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
