Ronda Sue Winters

Ronda was born September 9, 1953 in Kingsport TN. She grew up in the Indian Springs Community and was a graduate of Sullivan Central (The Ketron School). After graduation, she followed the encouragement of her teachers and peers and entered nursing school (LPN program through Holston Valley). Following graduation, she worked as a nurse at Holston Valley. This is where she met her husband, Wade. Years later, she shifted her focus from Hospital to Primary Care and worked for Holston Medical Group for Dr. Dickerson and then Dr. Brandon until her retirement. Ronda loved nursing and caring for the people in her community. She was a Christian and loved the Lord. She was a longtime member of Homeland Baptist Church, where she assisted teaching children in Sunday School, singing in the choir, and other various women’s group events. Ronda was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a loyal friend.

Ronda is survived by her granddaughter, Audrey Jane Winters, her daughter-in-law Kristi Whitaker Winters, sister Kaye Mathis, nieces: Tonya Winkle (Michael), Toma Moore, Teresa Countess (David), Tana Frazier, Mikayla Byrd, Shayna Winters, Angela Graham, Nakisha Graham, Mika Davenport, Ashton Woods Lawson, Chenoa Pruitt, Nephews: Chase Countess, Jake Woods, Andy Winkle, Chris Mathis, Ricky Hicks, and Tim Thatcher and dear friend of many years: Irene Greer.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wade Winters, Son: Bradley Winters, Parents: C.W. and Carrie Johnson, Sisters: Juanita Woods, Shirley Thatcher, Phyllis Hicks Burke, and Wrenda McCroskey. Brothers: Dwight Johnson and JW Johnson, Nephews: Mark Whittemore and Todd Woods.

Funeral Arrangements are being handled by East Lawn. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 12pm until 1:30pm at the funeral home. A graveside service given by Kyle Copas (Homeland Baptist) will be at 2pm in East Lawn Memorial Park.
