Rose C. Arrington, 96, transitioned peacefully during the early morning hours on Friday (November 2, 2018) at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born on March 7, 1922 in Medford, MA to the late Thomas & Frances Macri.
Rose resided in Jacksonville, FL with her late husband before moving to Tennessee. Rose taught Sunday school and directed Vacation Bible Schools. She loved small children, and had her own nursery. She spent many years in Tupperware sales. Rose truly had the heart of a servant, was very active in her church, and led many others to the love of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Branch D. Arrington; ten sisters, Margaret Fisher, Anna Langone, Nancy Apprille, Kay Sacca, Theresa Terramagra, Eleanor Delbono, Milly Poto, Mary Qualls, and Vinnie Tiernan; brother, Thomas Macri; and son-in-law, Bill Kroll.
Left to cherish her memories are her sister, Joan Salamone; brother-in-law, Douglas Arrington & wife Joan; three daughters, Patrea Kroll, Sara Hawkins & husband Bobby, Shirley Arrington; five grandchildren, Rob Kroll & wife Erin, Jeff Kroll, Julie Saunders & husband Bill, Kristi Vititoe & husband Justin, and Kaylie Kirby; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will greet guests and share memories on Tuesday (November 6, 2018) from 5 to 7 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home at 7 p.m. with Pastor Paul Wright officiating.
Rose will be entombed on Wednesday (November 7, 2018) at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories at East Lawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Neglia and the nurses from Suncrest Health Hospice for the kind and loving care that was both given and shown to Rose during her time of need.
