Ruby Madge Salyer

Madge Salyer, age 85, entered into rest May 13, 2012 at Wexford House. She was born in Russell County, Virginia and was a longtime resident of Kingsport. Madge was a homemaker and attended Way of Life Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Stapleton; her husband of forty-one years, James Claude Salyer; and son, Douglas MacArthur Salyer. Survivors include four sons, Bob Salyer, Jerry Salyer and wife Connie, Tom Salyer and wife Cindy, Curtis Salyer and wife Rebecca; daughter, Debra Williams all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Shelley Artrip, Cassie Cole, Tasha Peters, Shannon Salyer, Kasi Clifton, Jeremy Salyer, Patrick Salyer, Lance Salyer, Jamie Salyer, Scott Salyer, David Salyer, Andrew Salyer, Brandon Salyer, Travis Salyer; and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from noon until 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wexford House Activities Fund, 2421 N John B Dennis Hwy. Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.
