

Sharon Lou Fults, age 83, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Holston Rehabilitation & Health. She was born on March 2, 1942, the daughter of the late James William and Louise McCrosky Deatherage. Throughout her career, Sharon taught kindergarten at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a devoted member of Mountain View United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School classes and participated in Bible Study Fellowship for all age groups. Sharon consistently demonstrated a willing heart to serve the church in any way she could. In addition to her church activities, she loved to travel, play tennis, and enjoyed participating in her bridge club. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, James “Kevin” Fults.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 wonderful years Ken Fults; daughter, Gina Miller (Todd); daughter-in-law, Jennifer Fults; sister, Kathy Grills; grandchildren, McKenzie Lewis (Noah), Macy Miller (fiancé Dewey Pendley, and Caroline Fults; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her dearly.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 1:30 pm – 2:15 pm at Mountain View United Methodist Church in Kingsport. The funeral service to celebrate Sharon’s life will follow at 2:30 pm with Rev. Mandy Young officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s or to Mountain View United Methodist Church.
