Shirley Joan Stafford Ball

Shirley Joan Stafford Ball, 81, of Kingsport, died on Monday, May 9, 2016. Born on April 5, 1935 in Bluff City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Webb Stafford and Frank Stafford. In addition to her parents, Margaret and Frank Stafford, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Ball, Jr.; her sister, Barbara Stafford; and her grandson, SSG. Rusty Christian, while serving his country in Afghanistan in 2010. She is survived by her sons, James Ball and his wife, Donna, and Michael Ball; daughter, Deborah Allen; grandchildren, Joey Allen, Joshua Allen and Aaron Christian; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Luke, Gavin, Dominic, Tyler and Lillian. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Reed officiating and music by James Hensley. Burial will follow the service in the Garden of Memories of East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers honoring Mrs. Ball are Jeremy Culbertson, Joshua Allen, Joey Allen, Joe Allen, Aaron Christian and Jeff Tittsworth.
