Steve W. Carroll

Steve W. Carroll, 92, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Carroll was born on June 27, 1922 in Gate City, Virginia, the son of the late Steve W. Carroll, Sr. and Ava Horton Carroll. He was a veteran of the United States Army/Air Corp having served in World War II. Mr. Carroll was a member of Cassidy United Methodist Church, where he was very active as a member of the church choir. He loved camping, farming, and traveling. Mr. Carroll worked in Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier for thirty years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by one brother, Bayard Carroll; and one sister, Marjorie Freeman. Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Jenelle Carroll; two daughters, Sandra C. Hardin and husband John, of Kingsport, TN and Becky C. Barnett and husband Doug, of Blountville, TN; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Lemons and husband Floyd, Wes Hardin and wife Leslie, Chris Hardin and wife Kristy and Emily Fisher and husband James; nine great grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Dani, Samantha, Gabe, Tyler, Zain, Lyla and Zoe; nephew, Craig Carroll and niece, Madolyn Norton and husband Jim. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Cassidy United Methodist Church, 5801 Memorial Blvd., Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral Services for Mr. Steve W. Carroll will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 8:00pm at the Cassidy United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Hancock officiating. Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00am in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at East Lawn Memorial Park with military honors to be rendered by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
