Sylvia "Jo" Carter

Sylvia Jo Carter, age 85, of Piney Flats, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at her home. Sylvia was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. She retired from UNIVAC after 36 years of service. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Billy K. Carter; her parents, James and Myrtle Rhoton; and granddaughter, Donna Jo Worley. She is survived by her daughters, Billie Jean Price, Karen Jo Neal and Debbee Keys all of Blountville; son, Gary C. Carter of Blountville; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; sister, Leyno Stephenson of Kingsport; brothers, Odell Rhoten of Kingsport and Glen Rhoten of Blountville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Steve Lay officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Section F. Serving as pallbearers will be Bo Brewer, Coby Brewer, Jacob Adams, Arville Adams, Trevor McClain, Garland Worley, Mike Vallas, Austin Adams; and serving as honorary pallbearer will be David Chambers.
