Tommy was born on September 8, 1933 to Charles and Martha Weatherford, the third of four sons.
Growing up in Kingsport, Tommy was a natural athlete playing football and running track for Dobyns-Bennett High School. After briefly attending ETSU, Tommy married Judy Kibler, a former Miss Kingsport, started a family, and a 40 year career at Tennessee Eastman in the Power and Services Division.
In the early 70s, Tommy and Judy were one of six families that founded Shekinah Church. His kind, compassionate heart led to a prison ministry and a strong desire to help and assist friends, family, and strangers.
Tommy was a strong family man who passed down stories, advice, and wisdom to his children and grandchildren. He left a lasting legacy that will endure for generations.
In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy (May 8, 2023) and three brothers, Charles, George, and Jack.
He is survived by his son Steve Weatherford; his daughter and caregiver Teresa Weatherford (Darby Ratcliffe); 4 grandchildren, Marti Weatherford Coates (Tim), Andrew Weatherford (Haylie), Timothy Weatherford, Philip Weatherford (Erika); 4 great-grandchildren, Kadin Coates, Beckham Weatherford, Kallie Weatherford, Hadley James Weatherford; several nieces and nephews and special friend Joe Hogan.
