

V. Joan Arwood Doran, age 77 of Kingsport, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Doran was a Hancock County native and the daughter of the late W.H. and Mary Arwood-Miller. She was a member of Doran Addition Free Will Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred K. Doran in 1990 and a son Samuel Eugene Cole in 2001.
Survivors include: sons: David Cole and wife Karon and Freddie Doran and wife Wendy; step-children: Donna Ragel, Steve Doran, Debbie Davis, Jeff Doran and Pam Gamble; grandchildren: Beckey Cole, April Smith and husband Joe, Tanner Doran and Bailee Doran; great grandchildren: David Eugene Cole and Emily Ann Smith; brothers: Glenn Arwood and wife Jackie, LeeRoy Arwood and wife Phyllis and Douglas Arwood and wife Charleen; special grandchildren: Ashley and Abby Gilliam; lifelong friends Dot Barker and Mamie Salyers, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Doran will be conducted on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kelly Dykes and Dr. Roy Lester officiating. Special music will be provided by Tuesday Reynolds, Abby Gilliam, Carolyn Carter and Julie and Roy Morelock. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tim Dykes, Ray Cain, Ed McCloud, Shawn Faxon, Brad Johnson and Danny Arwood. Honorary pallbearers are LeeRoy Arwood, Glenn Arwood and Doug Arwood.
