Bernice Lucile Zieschang

Bernice Lucile Zieschang, age 79, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at her residence. She was born on March 5, 1931 to Ernst Adolf Felfe and Lillian Elezibeth Berthe Hirt Felfe. Mrs. Zieschang was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the LWML. She also made quilts for the Lutheran World Relief. She loved sewing, gardening and taking care of her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Carl Zieschang; an infant daughter; her parents; and two brothers, Earl and Wilbert Felfe.

Mrs. Zieschang is survived by five daughters, Joan Zieschang (Melvin) Elley of Austin, Texas, Peggy Zieschang of Sinton, Texas, Cathy Zieschang, Sharon Zieschang, both of Bishop, and Patricia (Glenn) Dominey of Lufkin, Texas; two sisters, Betty (Frank) Bucanek of Granger, Texas and Merlene Felfe of Austin; five grandchildren, Andrea (Josh) Brune, Diedre (Brandon) Cummins, Justin, Tracy and Kyle Dominey; and one great-granddaugher, Leighton Cummins. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, Kingsville. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 801 E. Main Street, Bishop, with Rev. Matthew Ulmer officiating. Burial will follow in Bishop at the Concordia Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery Sign Fund, 801 E. Main Street Bishop, Texas.
