

Edward Escobedo Ramirez, a resident of Bishop, died on January 9, 2011 in a Corpus Christi hospital at the age of 58. He was born on June 21, 1952 in Kingsville to Dorcas Escobedo and Eduardo Ramirez. He previously worked for Haunschild Distributing.
Edward loved camping, barbecuing, fishing, crossword puzzles, watching movies, and reading Time magazine. He always went the extra mile to help anyone in need. He was very optimistic throughout a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Teodoro Ramirez, and his sisters, Dorothy Sue Rodriguez and Sandy Aguilar. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 25 years, Sylvia Gonzalez Ramirez of Bishop, two brothers, Robert (Tules) Ramirez and Samuel Ramirez, both of Kingsville, two sisters, Pauline (Manuel) Carvajal of George West, TX and Cylinda (Esteban) Hernandez of Kingsville, numerous nieces and nephews, and his sweet little pets, Brownie, Fluffy, Sylvester, and Pepper.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Burial will follow in Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital for their special care, and a special thank you to Dr. Raymond Acebo and Dr. Karim Nooruddin and their staff for their wonderful care of Edward.
