

Eddie Monroe Richter, age 94, a lifetime resident of Bishop, Texas was called home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 25, 2012. He was born May 14, 1918 in Lexington, Texas to Paul Richter and Hulda Noack Richter. Eddie was employed for over 35 years for John Deere as a parts manager. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served his Lord by being the church’s yardman for many years. Eddie was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Hazel; parents; four sisters, Sophie Dube, Alice Michalk, Florence Schroeder, and Bess Hlavinka; five brothers, Paul, Erwin, Melvin, Milton and James Richter; and great-grandson, Caden Richter.
Eddie is survived by one daughter, Sharon Boerger (Charles) of San Antonio, Texas; and two sons, David Richter of Bishop and Brian Richter (Sherry) of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Dora Domann of Houston, Texas; brother, Alton Richter of San Angelo, Texas; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 801 East Main Street, Bishop, with Rev. Matthew T. Ulmer and Rev. Charles Boerger officiating. Burial will follow in Bishop at the Concordia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 801 East Main Street, Bishop, Texas 78343.
