

Gerald A. Hethcoat, age 83, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born October 16, 1928 in Vattmann, Texas to Orval Hethcoat and Veronica May Hethcoat. Gerald was employed for Celanese Corporation until his retirement. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion. Mr. Hethcoat, a devout Catholic, was a faithful member of St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church and a eucharistic minister.
He was preceded in death on November 21, 2003 by his beloved wife, Mary Eileen Hethcoat; and son, Mark Hethcoat.
Gerald is survived by one son, Robert E. Hethcoat (Vicki) of Corpus Christi; three daughters, Linda Estes (Tim) of Kingsville, Lorrie Wallace (Tony) of Houston, Texas and Katy Keown (Leslie) of Cedar Park, Texas; two brothers, Alton Hethcoat (Wanda) of Tennessee and Leroy Hethcoat (Vivian) of Houston; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2011 after 6:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, Kingsville, with Fr. James Stembler and Fr. John Chavarria as celebrants. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society, c/o St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, 1120 South Eighth Street, Kingsville, Texas 78363.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
