Guadalupe S. Olivarez Jr.

KINGSVILLE – Guadalupe S. Olivarez, Jr. passed away, Friday, January 7, 2011. He was 74. He was born January 11, 1936 in Kingsville, Texas to Guadalupe and Maria Serna Olivarez, Sr. Guadalupe was a retired farmer and also retired from K.I.S.D after 27 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alfredo Olivarez and sister, Juanita O. Lopez. He is survived by one sister, Maria (John) Asch; three brothers, Reymundo (Audilia A.) Olivarez, Raul (Rebecca) Olivarez, Alejandro (Irma) Olivarez; sister-in-law, Sara Olivarez all of Kingsville, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Romeo Salinas as celebrant. Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
