

John was born in Louisiana on August 8, 1937, and entered the United States Navy in 1955. After serving his country for 21 years, John retired as a Chief Petty Officer and settled with his family in Kingsville, where he worked for the Cities of Kingsville and Corpus Christi as a Health and Sanitation Inspector.
John, the son of Ella Mae and Alton Chisholm, was the eldest of six children. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Sue Bogie and Robert Chisholm. His surviving sisters, Barbara Neatherly, Nancy Hall, and Sylvia Duncan, reside in the Baytown, TX area.
John passed peacefully, holding Margaret’s hand and surrounded by his family. He is
survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret Rye-Chisholm of Kingsville, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Linda Chisholm of Cresson, TX; his beloved daughter, Kathy Chisholm-Webb of Kingsville; grandchildren Ryan and Jessica Webb of Kingsville, and Stephen Chisholm of Cresson; great-grand children Lauren and Savannah Webb of Kingsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, with a graveside service at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas at 11:00 a.m.
