He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda; his daughter Shannon (Rob) and Abbey of Brandon, MB; son, Ian (Stephanie) and Alex and Chiara of Regina; stepmother Eva of Windthorst; brother, Rob Morrison of Fernie, BC; and sister-in-law Jan (Stew) Miskiman of Moosomin. Grant had a long career as the meat cutter in Windthorst. He took pride in his craft, attracting customers far beyond the Windthorst district. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Many hours were spent at ball diamonds, basketball courts, musical concerts, school plays and any other activities in which his grandchildren participated. Grant loved animals, especially his dog Max.
In 2019, Grant was surprised and delighted to discover he had a sister, Audrey. He enjoyed getting to know Audrey and her family through phone calls and virtual visits. Unfortunately, he was never able to meet his new family members in person but was thrilled to build new relationships, nonetheless.
Grant’s family would like to thank the staff at Kipling Integrated Health Centre for the excellent care.
Grant’s funeral mass was held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pius R.C. Church in Windthorst, lunch followed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kipling Integrated Health Centre Activity Fund, Box 420, Kipling, SK, S0G 2S0.
