Jean Decelle

Jean was predeceased by her husband, Gabriel; infant twin daughters, Joanne and Julianne; grandson, Tylar; her parents, Joseph and Julia Jordens; her brother, Leonard; her sister, Loretta Gerhardt.

Jean is survived by her children: Mona (Gordon) West, Kathy Decelle (James Shepherd), Dorothy (Richard) Barsi, Bonny (Rick) Seaberly, Michael (Chris) Decelle; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren: Chris West (Shannon – Josie, Holden, Carter); Cheryl Dubois (Emily, Zoe); Robert West (Kyla - Vanessa, Theoren, Sasha, Logan); Amanda Moloney (Eoin – Catherine, Gabriel); Ian Warner; Erin Singer (David – Samuel, Ari); Patrick Warner (Lana Fisher – Paige); Alanna Warner (Glen Emond – Rowan); Andrew Warner (Niki Stark); Graham Warner; Tara Barsi (Ryan Daviduk -Katelyn, Mason); Julia Neumann (Erik – Nola, Sylvie); Kelly Barsi (Jason McDonald); Tracy Barsi; Phillip Decelle; Matthew Decelle; brothers, Joseph (Patti) Jordens and Vern Jordens; sisters, Eileen Gatin and Angela (Ed) Mihalicz; sister-in-law, Mary Jordens; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was born at Sinnett, SK on June 13, 1930. After marrying Gabriel in 1952, together they journeyed through life for almost 60 years, working the Decelle family farm until they retired to Kipling in 1994. Mom’s hands were always busy: baking, sewing, knitting, gardening, driving the tractor during haying and the grain truck at harvest time, playing games and cards, doing crossword puzzles, singing with family, and praying the Rosary. She was our teacher. She took good care of us, fussed over us, worried about us and prayed for us!

Please join us in a celebration of Jean’s life to be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kennedy SK on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Father Felipe Faustino. Interment will follow in St. Hubert Parish Cemetery.
