

John was predeceased by his wife Agnes, by one daughter Elizabeth in infancy, by his parents Jozsef and Anna (Zapler) Treso, by 2 brothers Istvan and Jozsef.
John is survived by 4 sons, John - Jancsi (Rosemarie) Regina, Steven - Pityu (Tamy) Redvers, Les - Laci (Karen) Pilot Butte, Joe - Jozsi Regina, and one daughter Maria - Marika Regina, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and also nieces, nephews and cousins in Hungary.
John was born on January 7, 1925 in Markaz, Hungary. He immigrated to Canada with his wife Agnes and 2 sons in 1957. He obtained his Canadian citizenship in 1962 and he was very proud of being Canadian and he was also very proud of his Hungarian heritage. When he immigrated to Canada with his family, he settled in Hardisty, Alberta where he worked for the CPR railroad where he saved enough money to purchase 3 quarters of farmland in 1960 in the Red Cross district west of St. Walburg, Sask. and farmed there until 1972. The family then moved to the Montmartre district and continued farming until 1985, when he retired and moved to Kipling to be with Hungarian friends. To be closer to his family John and Agnes moved to Regina in 2007.
John loved farming, especially working with cattle, he loved gardening (he even grew grapes), he gardened even in his 89th year, he loved playing cards, loved making and drinking wine, and he loved his sports especially the Riders. John loved his family, and he was particularly touched on his 90th birthday.
The funeral service will be held in St. Anne's R.C. Church, Kipling, SK., on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. By the Rev. Hector Seville. Cremation with interment in the Kipling Cemetery.
