William Graham Munro

Graham Munro was born on April 16, 1939, at the Munro Homestead located south of Kennedy to Hugh John and Irene (Bowden). Graham grew up on the Munro Homestead and attended Bellville school south of Kennedy.

Graham was predeceased by his parents, Hugh John and Irene; sister Jean and in-laws Maurice and Gilette Zebiere.

He is survived by his wife, of nearly 64 years, Denise; their sons: Scott, Dale (Kass), Maurice (Terry) and Kevin (Joanne); grandchildren: Melissa (Steve), Matthew, Brandon (Sydney), Riley, Davan (Casey), Jaimie (Pierce), Kayla (Nick) and Parker; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Lorraine, Laekyn, Scarlett, Isobel, Bram and Hexton; brother Don; sister-in-law Lucy; brother-in-law Lionel and numerous nieces and nephews.

He started trapping at the age of 16 and quickly became a skilled trapper. He entered the workforce by helping neighbours on the farm threshing grain. He then started operating equipment for Warner Construction building roads, his most notable project was building Highway 9 from Kennedy to Kenosee.

Graham and Denise were married on November 29, 1961. Shortly after, they purchased their farm, where they farmed grain and cattle, as well as kept horses. Graham and Denise had four boys, Scott, Dale, Maurice, and Kevin, all of which were born in the Wawota Hospital.

Graham and Denise ran a successful farming operation for many years, their sons Dale and Kevin, later joining the operation. After many years, Graham and Denise retired and sold their farm and moved to Kennedy in 2015.

Graham and Denise welcomed numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the years, which he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with. Graham was a gentle soul who enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and numerous friends (enjoying a snort of scotch if they would have it), and taking care of others.

The family want to thank the staff at Kipling Integrated Health Center and Kipling Home Care for all their care and support.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
