Arthur "Billy" Harris

Arthur Leroy Harris of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on July 18, 2021. He was born on December 27, 1940 in White Plains, New York. He was a resident of Yonkers, New York until relocating to Atlanta over 20 years ago.

Arthur known as “Billy”, served in the United States Army and was a very active member in various organizations and activities such as The Elks in New York and Atlanta, bowling leagues, coaching baseball, Group Home counseling, Community Center counseling, and an avid golfer just to name a few. Billy loved life and lived life. He was a good time He was stern and strong in his beliefs.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. Harris and Hazel L (Diaz) Harris Gill, his bonus dad, Hayward S. Gill Sr., and his siblings, Richard Harris, Lawrence Gill, and Linda P. Bryant. He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings; Robert Harris (Cynthia) of Kissimmee, Florida, Barbara Priest (Gilbert) of Knightdale, North Carolina, and Hayward S. Gill Jr. Of Harlem, New York, two sons, Terry and Gary, a bonus daughter, Cynthia Dominique of Atlanta who cared for him until his passing, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and bonus relatives.

A memorial service for Billy will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, Florida 34741.
