Arthur Robert Herche, aged 87, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025. Born on May 25, 1938, in Ellicott City, Maryland, Arthur was the beloved son of the late Catherine (née Bowman) and John Reisz Herche.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Arthur served his country with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career and retired from Navistar International Corporation.

Arthur shared a remarkable 64 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Mary Faye Herche. Together, they built a loving family and a life full of cherished memories.

An avid outdoorsman, Arthur had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and golf. He also took great pride in caring for his yard and gardening, finding peace and joy in nurturing his outdoor space. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was also known for his delicious Chef skills. Above all, he loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. He was also a devoted pet owner and was fondly remembered alongside his beloved dog Jack, who passed away before him.

He is survived by his wife Mary Faye; his children Robert Kent (Lisa), Stephen Brent (Kimberly Ann), and Garrett Lynn "Sam" (Tonya); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his brother Gene Raymond Herche (Deborah). His sisters-in-laws, Francis, and Sally. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.

Arthur was predeceased by his brothers Nicholas Adam Herche, John Reisz Herche, and his twin, Howard Richard Herche, and his sister-in-law, Rhea Carolyn.

Arthur’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
