Damiano “Dom” Manocchio, 91, of Casselberry Florida, passed away on April 29, 2017. Dom was born on July 2, 1925 in Beacon New York to the late Dominick and Antoinette Manocchio. He retired from the Amityville Post Office after his long career as a letter carrier. He loved his work as a volunteer at “Gives Kids the World” in Kissimmee Florida for over 10 years, and enjoyed golfing and bowling in his spare time and through all his life, his faith in the Catholic Church was always clear.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Eleanor and his daughter, Janice Ava Grossman.
He is survived by his daughter, Jill Manocchio Slater, his granddaughter, Alyssa Bolick (Nicholas), his grandson, Michael Slater and his son-in-law, Jeff Grossman.
A Mass will be held at “Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church” in Massapequa Park, New York on May 8, 2017 at 10:45am, with Burial to follow at the Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Amityville, New York.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Give Kids the World Village” in Kissimmee Florida or “Saint Jude, Children’s Research Hospital” in Dom’s memory.
