

John (Dan) Glascott passed away on August 25, 2012, son of the late Marguerite Leary Glascott and Joseph E. Glascott. Beloved husband of Kathy (Joyce) and loving father of Brenda M. Glascott, PhD (Amy Borden, PhD). Dear brother of Larry J. Glascott (Marilyn).
Mr. Glascott was a member of the Solivita Veteran’s Club and American Legion Post. He served in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam era. He dreamt of living in Florida, and after retiring from the Buffalo Public Schools following a distinguished career as a school engineer, he realized his dream when he moved to Kissimmee. When he served in the Buffalo Public Schools, he mentored underrepresented minorities starting them on a career path as school engineers. He also was assigned to the Plant Department as a School Inspector. He enjoyed a second career working for the Walt Disney Company.
Mr. Glascott was a generous and loving friend who reached out to others in their time of need. He will be remembered for his quick wit, generosity, and kindness. He enjoyed socializing and was known as an avid card player. He delighted in the antics of his puppy, Sparkle.
Mr. Glascott is survived by his uncle, Thomas Glascott (Marcy) and aunt, Elizabeth Meckle (Donald) and several sisters and brothers-in-law, many cousins and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for (John) Dan Glascott on September 22, 2012 at Seneca United Methodist Church in West Seneca. Friends and family are invited to attend.
