

Toby was born in Biddeford, Maine on February 21, 1945, son of the late Vital and Lena (Johnpiere) Cyr. He and his family later moved to Southington, CT.
After high school, Toby enlisted in the United States Navy. He served honorably aboard the USS Chevalier, a Naval Destroyer, from 1962 to 1965.
He was a proud employee of General Electric in Plainville, CT, retiring in 2000 after 35 years of service. Toby and Loretta, later retired to Kissimmee, FL in 2003.
Throughout his life, Toby enjoyed traveling, fun summer vacations and being with his family. He will always be remembered by his daughter and granddaughter Jes for the lifetime of corny jokes and stories of his childhood when movies cost 50 cents.
He also enjoyed fishing for Striped Bass and Bluefish at Meigs Point, Hammonasset Beach State Park, and Harkness Memorial State Parks, and on the Myjoy. More than anything, both Toby and Loretta loved and lived for their Cocker Spaniels, which brought them so much joy and happiness throughout their years together.
Toby leaves behind his son Michael Cyr, wife Karen of Wallingford, CT., his daughter Stacy Cyr of Bristol, CT.; his grandchildren, Jes Felton, Justin, Jenna, and Jarrett Cyr. He will be missed by his dog Cooper.
He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta, brothers Vincent and Donald Szamier and sister Holly Spielman.
Toby, along with his wife Loretta, will be buried together in a private ceremony at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford, CT.
