
Thomas Donaldson Johnston, 81, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 7, 2010. Born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, Tom graduated from Bowdoin University. He then went on to serve his country as a decorated veteran of the Korean War for the United States Marine Corps. Upon his return, he received his law degree from Harvard University and worked in Ohio for many years. Following a successful legal career, he retired to Florida and volunteered with community organizations including Give Kids The World Village and the Osceola Regional Medical Center. Tom was most proud of his family and is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nan, and children: Thomas (Ann), Susan, Richard (Cheryl), David (Jeanne) and Kate Johnston-Legg (Jeff), nine grandchildren Thomas (Anna), Mary, Stephanie, Amy, Michael, Andrew, Philip, Lucy and Kendall. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Give Kids The World, 210 S. Bass Road, Kissimmee, FL, 34746, Osceola Regional Medical Center, 700 W. Colonial Avenue, Kissimmee, FL, 34741. A memorial service will be held in Solivita in December. Grissom Funeral Home is entrusted with Tom's services.
