June 11, 1941 - April 29, 2023
William "Bill" Anthony Toter was born on June 11, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Alphonse and Mary Toter. From the young age, Bill carried with him quiet strength, a warm smile, and a heart full of kindness - qualities that defined him throughout his life.
Bill dedicated his early career to Allegheny Airlines, where he worked as a lead maintenance mechanic. His hands built, repaired, and ensured the safety of countless flights, but it was his character - steady, dependable, and always sincere - that left a lasting impression on his coworkers.
In 1990, Bill and his beloved wife Barbara, the love of his life and partner for 60 beautiful years, moved to Florida to begin a new chapter. He continued his aviation work with U.S. Airways for many years, and even after retirement, he brought his trademark warmth to Home Depot, were he greeted every customer with genuine smile and word. His gentle spirit and gentlemanly nature made him a friend to many and a favorite to all who met him.
Bill's true joy was found in the company of his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, and his pride in their closeness was evident to all. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Barbara, his son William Jr, and daughter - in - law Kelly; his daughter Maureen and his son - in - law Dean; his treasured granddaughter Cassy Lynn Gartman, and his precious great-grandchildren Brady William and Bella Rose. Even Lulu, the family cat, held a special place in Bill's heart.
On April 29, 2023, Bill passed peacefully in the comfort of the Kissimmee home he and Barbara filled with love, laughter, and decades of memories. He was 81 years old.
Though he may no longer walk among us, Bill's spirit remains deeply woven into the lives he touched. His legacy of kindness, humility, and quiet strength lives on in his family, friends, and in every life he brightened with a smile. He will be missed beyond measure - and remembered always.
