Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Otto Seftel

SEFTEL, Elizabeth Jean “Betty” – Betty passed away peacefully, with family close by, on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Betty joins her beloved husband, Ruben who predeceased her in 2005. Cherished mother of Tim Seftel and Dave (Mary Ellen) Seftel. Proud Grandma of Brett, Dustin (Allison), Christopher (Kate) and Amy (Dave) and great-grandma of Cale, Sydney-Mae and Mason. The last surviving member of her family, Betty is predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. She was a waitress at Mabe’s Lunch for 25 years. A wonderful cook, Betty was known for her potato salad. She was a devoted mother and homemaker to Ruben and her boys. Betty was one of the first residents at Sunnyside Home, following their renovations and she will be missed by her family there. Betty’s family extends their deepest gratitude to Elsie and the staff of Woodside for the wonderful care and friendship that Betty received while at Sunnyside.

Friends may call on Monday, August 4th from 10 to 11am at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener. A memorial service celebrating Betty’s life will take place at 11 o’clock, with a reception to follow at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. For those who wish, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to the Sunnyside Home Foundation and can be arranged by contacting the funeral home.
