Josefa Garcia Galvez

GALVEZ, Josefa (nee: Garcia Rubio) passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Tuesday February 10, 2015, at the age of 83 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Antonio, four children, Antonio, Manuel, Jose, and Fernando, nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Josefa came to Canada in 1968 but continued to honour her Spanish heritage while embracing her new home in Canada. Josefa was a caring, thoughtful, compassionate, and hardworking woman, and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Relatives and friends are invited to a service and reception in Josefa’s honour on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre at 621 King Street West, Kitchener, ON. Special thanks to all staff at Grand River Hospital, Freeport Hospital, Lanark Retirement Home, and the Community Care Team for all their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in her name to the CCAC Community Elderly Care for the loving care and dignity they provide to the lives of seniors of Waterloo Region.
