Leopold Podhornik

Leopold Joseph Maria Podhornik, aged 89 years.

Leo arrived in Canada in 1955 and was a member of St. Agnes Church and retired as a custodian with the Waterloo Regional Separate School Board.

Loving father to Debbie and her husband Robin Kressler of Kitchener, Karen and her husband Gary Tomlin of Conestogo, Wayne and his wife Susan of Waterloo, Raymond and his wife Sandra of Kitchener and Kenneth and Rose Marie of Conestogo, beloved grandpa to Ryan and his wife Stephanie, Aaron and his wife Jenn, Brent, Alyssa, Alexandrea, Nicole, Liam, Hunter, Jasper and Niamh and great grandpa to Bryanna Braeden and Taeya.

Predeceased by his parents Gustav and Marie Podhornik, his wife Ellen in 2003, one brother Gustav and one sister Gabriele.

Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 where parish prayers will be recited at 8:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from St. Agnes Church with Father Piotr Machnacki S.A.C. officiating, interment will be in Parkview Cemetery and donations may be made to Lisaard House or Friends of Algonquin Park as expressions of sympathy, through the funeral home.
